This is the return and refund policy for items bought on Diecast Markets. It works with Buyer Protection, and the version accepted at checkout is stored on your order. It does not remove a statutory right to a remedy for a defective or misdescribed good.
Before you buy
Every listing is one specific item sold by an individual or business seller. Checkout shows the item, the seller, the price, the shipping terms, the tax treatment, the total, and a link to this policy before you pay. Read the condition and look at the photos; they are the description you are buying against.
As-Is items
An As-Is label does not automatically defeat a return or refund claim. For an As-Is item, the relevant comparison is the item delivered versus the condition, known defects, description, and condition photos disclosed before checkout and stored on the order. A disclosed flaw is not treated as undisclosed merely because the buyer later changes their mind, but material misdescription, hidden known defects, non-delivery, counterfeit or stolen goods, and non-waivable legal rights remain reviewable.
When a return can be required
A return can be part of resolving a dispute where the item is materially not as described, the wrong item, damaged in transit or with undisclosed damage, or not genuine. Open the dispute on the order and keep the item available and unaltered. When a return is the agreed step, the seller gives a return address in the order thread and the buyer ships the item back tracked. Who pays return shipping is decided in the dispute based on the cause: a seller whose listing was inaccurate is expected to cover it.
Change of mind and statutory cancellation rights
A buyer who simply changes their mind does not have a marketplace-funded return unless the seller agrees or applicable Canadian consumer law gives the buyer a cancellation right. A seller may voluntarily agree to a return in the order thread; if they do, the refund is issued through the marketplace so both sides have a record.
Business sellers, private sellers, and provincial consumer law
The seller's status matters. A seller acting in the course of a business must identify itself accurately and cannot label itself "private" to avoid mandatory consumer rights. Canadian provincial consumer-protection laws can impose pre-contract disclosure, error-correction, written-copy, delivery, cancellation, refund, warranty, or misrepresentation rights on internet or distance sales by a supplier. Those rights vary by province and the circumstances of the sale.
A private one-off sale can be treated differently from a business-to-consumer sale, but a seller-selected "no returns" term or As-Is label never overrides a right that applicable law makes non-waivable. Where a statutory cancellation or refund right applies, that right controls over this policy. Real-money checkout remains closed until the Canadian consumer-contract disclosure flow, including the required business-seller identity/contact information, is approved for the provinces and territories we support.
Refunds
Refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method when the review calls for one, or when a seller cancels a paid order. A full refund reverses the seller payout; a partial refund reduces it. Stripe and your bank control how quickly the refund appears. Diecast Markets does not publish a single fixed number of days as a universal return window, because the dispute path follows order status rather than a stored cutoff.
What this policy does not set
Shipping cost is not a separate checkout charge today and is not refunded as a separate line. Restocking fees are not permitted. A seller cannot impose return conditions that conflict with this policy or with mandatory consumer law.
